Drive Retail Velocity with Instacart’s RTD Program

As Instacart’s latest RTD partner, Hy-Vee  joins the ranks of Sprouts and Thrive.

And just like that, advertisers can drive velocity in Hy-Vee directly.

Absolutely amazing.

Sooo…  What’s an RTD partner?

RTD stands for  𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱.

This is an Instacart program that allows you to drive velocity specifically in a few of it’s retail partners.

So your advertising budget goes to only that particular retailer.

It’s just like a regular Instacart account, but it drives to only one retailer.

Instacart’s available RTD partners include:

1. Thrive Market

2. Sprouts Farmers Market

3. Market 32

4. Tops Markets

5. Price Chopper

6. The Fresh Market

And now Hy-Vee.

Lucky No. 7. 🍀

RTD’s are phenomenal for driving growth in Sprouts and Thrive.

Hy-Vee is larger than Sprouts, so I expect a great outcome there.

They’re also very workable for The Fresh Market, although the ROI is a little lower.

They’re a little lackluster for Tops, Market 32, & Price Chopper; but they’re at least worth trying.

If you’re going to use an RTD account, here are a few 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀:

1.  Optimized Campaigns do poorly for most of the RTD Accounts.

2.  Try Optimized Campaigns as a good last resort if you can’t get a manual campaigns to spend enough.

3.  Sponsored Products can be lower performing than other placements.  Try display campaigns.  They’re newer, so there’s less competition.

4.  Test and all behavioral targeting methods, and segment them tightly.  Keep the ones that work.

If you need to drive velocity at Hy-Vee, there you go.
