They call them the 3 Horsemen of Retail Velocity.
Digital tools for crushing Retail velocity goals.
There are 3 Horsemen of Digital Velocity.
And chances are, you’re probably missing 2 of them.
Digital tools are very different from in-store promotion and trade spend.
The strategy and execution are in your hands.
Not in the hands of the retailer.
You get to actively outsmart and out-strategize your competitors.
You can target, retarget, and steal market share from your competitors.
My team and I do it every single day.
Every day is an absolute gunfight.
One that we absolutely love.
But the big mistake I see across CPG is passiveness.
It’s turning on a campaign or two, and letting it ride.
It’s overlooking many important tools.
Then hoping for the best.
It’s thinking you’re working 15-20% of retail.
When in reality, it’s about dominating that 15-20% of retail.
For some brands, in some retailers, it can be 50% of total retail sales.
You don’t want your “fair share” of that 15-20%.
You want the 𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘯’𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦 of that 15-20%.
You want to target digital shoppers on whatever site they’re using.
Not just the one you’ve heard of, or the one you’re comfortable with.
Your digital shoppers are not shopping in one place.
Some customers are shopping on Instacart.
Some are shopping on the retailer website.
Some are shopping on DoorDash Grocery.
Retail velocity is a problem that is different for every brand.
And every problem should be approached with a complete tool set.
Here are 3 tools almost every brand in retail should be using:
1. Instacart. Targets the Instacart.com shopper.
2. DoorDash’s Ads. Targets the DoorDash Shopper.
3. Criteo (or Epsilon). Targets the retailer website shopper.
For almost every retail velocity problem.
We should be bringing these three tools to bear.
These are the Three Horsemen of Digital Shopping.
All 3 of them can target specific retailers.
All 3 help you to dominate your digital space.
All 3 should be executed with a surgeon’s precision.
What do you think?
Digital retail is expected to reach 20% of during Q4.
Does it continue to grow from here?
